His work and personal passion for the latest and greatest tech means he always has the newest smartphone, tablet or laptop in the house.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But he confesses that in his excitement to upgrade, old devices swiftly become a distant memory, hoarded away, collecting dust in a corner of the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019ve always got lots of old devices lying around. I think it\u2019s not really knowing where I could recycle them or what would be the best thing to do with them.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He agreed to be photographed, with his children, as part of award-winning photographer Gregg Segal&#8217;s project to illustrate the potential for recycling old electricals hidden away in our homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Recycle Your Electricals - &#039;Hidden Treasures&#039; - Rupert the Tech Collector - full version\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jtEnZo2Sf0g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It felt like toast being buttered,&#8221; said Rupert\u2019s daughter as she was covered and surrounded by old electricals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the photo shoot, Rupert&#8217;s son admitted that they have a lot of small old electricals in the house.
